As May creeps nearer, I have begun getting up a little earlier each day in preparation of the ornaments arriving. The first delivery is scheduled to release in the beginning of June. I can hardly wait.
Before the onslaught, though, I’m trying to have some scrapbooking fun so I joined a page a month club at a local scrapbook supply store. I have to admit, I am a little awe inspired by the other ladies in my class. They bring fancy totes stuffed with stuff I never knew existed. They do math in their head faster than JeanPaul – and that’s pretty fast. They have marked concentration on their faces as if they are competing in a science project.
I feel like I did in jazzercize or Spanish I – everyone seems to know what they are doing except me. I keep my head low, try not to show my utter confusion and try not to be too obsequious when I ask to borrow a cool tool from my table mates.
Funny thing, though at the last class. While the flurry of paper cutting, gluing and stamping whirled around me, I plodded along trying as best I could to center myself amid the experienced crafters. When all was done, I had a nice page with correctly cut shapes and the experienced scraper with the big cutting tools and lightening fast hands, had a mess of a page. Yeah for being a turtle at a table of hares!
