My grandson Cayden and I spent Saturday together – the whole day together, just the two of us.  He’s 2 1/2 years old.  We have a great museum in town, The Currier Art Museum, and admission is free every Saturday from 10 am to noon.  I packed up the stroller – well, cleaned it off first (we are going to an ART museum, after all).

We spent about an hour there just walking around, looking at paintings and sculpture.  As you can guess, he liked the big colorful modern paintings and he really liked the big sculptures.  His favorite, though, was the hallway of glass paperweights.  I’m not kidding, we spent a whole 1/2 hour in that hallway. He craned his neck, tried to get himself as close to the cases as possible.  He laughed at the glass bugs and snakes inside of them and he got all excited at the ones with lots of flowers.   He particularly loved this hallway of the glass…

balls.  Yep, he’s a 2 1/2 year old boy who loves balls (like every other 2 1/2 year old boy) and to him, these beautiful glass paperweights were balls that he was dying to get at so he could throw them!

We had a great morning together.
