A few years back, JeanPaul’s son struggled to find his way out of the deep end.  It has been quite a struggle, it continues to be a struggle.  Dan Harris has a quote in his new book that sums things up well.  “Your addiction may have left the building, but it’s in the parking lot doing push ups.”

He’s been avoiding parking lots.  He’s been spending time praying in a little chapel near his apartment.

A few Sundays ago we all went to that chapel to pray together while we baptized our grandson, his son – Nathaniel.

There were children running all over the place but the Deacon and his wife smiled through the chaos and told us not to worry – Christ loved children.  Even the noisy ones.

Nathaniel’s a talkative little guy but he was pretty quiet – he knew why he was having water poured on his head.

He knew we were all there to celebrate the beginning of his new life.  He was surrounded by all the people he loves.

You see, this was all in preparation for the next step…

His first day at St. Casmir School.  Sometimes, things do work out and we do get exactly what we want.  But, none of this would have been possible without your prayers.  Thank you.  I will be eternally grateful for your well wishes, healing thoughts and special prayers.  I hope you have joy today, too.
